Firstly, most people do not start out living in clutter and utter disorganisation. People gradually become overwhelmed and mayhem sneaks up on us.

Suddenly, one morning you wake up feeling overwhelmed and can’t even begin to know where to start to organise it. It is common. We lead busy lives; bills, paperwork, filing, laundry and stuff just seem to accumulate and build-up. It doesn’t feel good to be surrounded by a mess. It can make it hard to think clearly. You may be internalising your surroundings.

I feel so much better when my house is tidy and everything is in its place. It’s similar to how one feels when you move into a new space and put everything away for the first time in its place. Everything is placed in its proper place where it looks the nicest and is pleasing for the eye to see. It starts with one little pile of papers on the side- board, then a laundry basket with some orphan socks. The mess and disorganisation mushrooms from there.
